A lynx in the town

A curious lynx, attracted by the neighboring city lights, leaves the forest behind. The animal has a lot of fun in the city, until it falls asleep in the middle of a parking lot. In the early morning, the amazed inhabitants discover this strange animal covered in snow.

Director
Graduated from the Ural Academy of Architecture in Yekaterinburg, Department of Animation. She creates short animated films and also makes animations for documentaries and music videos, sharing her skills with other directors.

The Little Bird and the Bees

High above, the small bird enjoys the flowers of its maple tree. A mysterious humming that needs to be fathomed sends him on a journey into a magical world of flowers. Of course, the fiery red fox is soon on the little bird’s heels. Trailed by bad luck the fox makes acquaintance with the hard-working bees. The final encounter with the beehive results into a rather unpleasant surprise for the troublemaker.

Director
Born in Berlin, Germany in 1981, she graduated in audiovisual communication from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and then took a master’s degree in design at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland, majoring in animation.

Antje Heyn is a Berlin based animation director and illustrator. Her work is inspired by daily observations of urban living and culture as well as nature and animals. Besides setting her heart on creating characters and bringing them to life she teaches animation at universities as well as art academies and is running the Protoplanet Studio.

Home is beehind

Home is Beehind is a 2D animated film about a tiny bee exploring the big, big world. It’s a story about leaving home to explore the world and travel beyond the horizon far beyond anything that’s familiar. It’s a story about wanderlust and overcoming obstacles to reach your goals, and the boundless curiosity that drives one to explore and seek out new experiences and places.

Director
Linde van Dijk is an animator/illustrator from Tilburg, the Netherlands, with a love for handdrawn 2D animation and richly coloured, detailed worlds; films to take you away to new worlds and different perspectives that we might not see in daily life all that often. Linde has a bachelor degree in animation from AKV Sint Joost in Den Bosch, the Netherlands, and a master degree with honours from the Master Institute of Visual Cultures.

Bench

A short film about sharing…

Director
Rich Webber is a Bafta Award winning freelance animation creative and Director. Working in animation for over 25 years. He is the Creator/Director of Aardman Animations Dc Nation shorts for Warner Brothers and Cartoon Network and Creator/Director of Purple and Brown for Nickelodeon, director of Shaun the Sheep episodes Series 1 & 2 for Aardman Animations as well as commercials and various other animation projects including Creature Comforts for David Attenborough’s 90th birthday. He is also a voice actor voicing such characters as Shirley in Shaun the Sheep as well as Ubo, in Farmageddon, Purple in Purple and Brown and Grub up in Nick Parks Early Man animated feature.

Catch the moon, first anticipations

The first edition of the festival dedicated to children’s animation cinema will be held in Naples, from 7 to 13 December 2020 and will be hosted by ART33, the cultural hub of San Giovanni a Teduccio.

CATCH THE MOON – International Children & Youth Animated Film Festival is the first festival of this kind in Campania. The project is structured in different activities concerning the education of pupils and teachers and the promotion and spread of animation films for children and youths. It is realised by the association Gioco Immagine e parole in partnership with the association Atalante, organiser of Imaginaria, one of the most important festival in this field at the national and international level, the social enterprise Bepart, based in Milan, which works in the tourist and cultural field developing new multimedia languages in order to create a new way of making use of urban areas, l’Istituto comprensivo 48° Madre Claudia Russo – F. Solimena and l’Istituto comprensivo “47° Sarria-Monti”, as part of the announcement of selection “Cinema per la Scuola –Buone Pratiche, Rassegne e Festival” promoted by MIUR and MiBACT.

Cornerstone of the project is the International competition for animated short films dedicated to children and youth with the formation of a “Young jury” in partnership with schools of the territory. A “Jury of experts” of high level profile will attend the Competition too.

The categories to be awarded are: “Best Animated Short Film”, “Audience Award”, “Best Animated Short Film for Kids”, “Best Student Animated Short FIlm”. 

The side events enriching the festival are:

1) Animation film workshop divided in the kids section and the teachers section: 

A) Stop Motion thecnics;

B) Rotoscope thecnic.

2) Meetings with the creators of Animation films:

(the guests will be announced at the end of September 2020)

3) Performances of Shadow play and Sand Art:

The spectator, either an adult or a child, will be absorbed by an unreal dimension, where Nature’s rules melts with magic’s wonders. The shapes created by the hands’ gesture through the rhythm of moving music will meet each other, they will fuse together only to reborn in new compositions.

4) Exhibitions of illustration and animated films:

A) “La Carta dei diritti dei bambini all’Arte e alla Cultura”;

B) Beatrice Pucci e Marino Neri’s world;

5) MAUA Exhibition Museum of augmented urban art reality.
